For our client, a renowned charitable organisation of the Catholic Church, we are looking for you as an experienced accountant HGB (m/f/d) in Schwerin on a full or part-time basis for a temporary project as a freelancer (m/f/d) or as part of a temporary employment contract for 6-12 months.

Job description

  • You will be responsible for the complete management of the general ledgers and ensure compliance with all relevant legal regulations
  • You will book all business transactions in the areas of accounts payable, accounts receivable and asset accounting in strict compliance with commercial law
  • The entire processing of travel expense reports, credit card charges and cash balances and ensure that all income and expenses are booked correctly
  • Your forward-looking approach ensures that provisions and accruals and deferrals are booked on time and that accruals and deferrals are recognised in the monthly reporting
  • You independently prepare the annual financial statements in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB) and actively participate in audits by auditors:
  • you are fully committed to the submission of monthly advance VAT returns and other statistical reports as well as the reliable auditing and preparation of invoices
  • you are available as a competent contact person for all internal and external matters and are involved in budget and cost planning

Requirements

  • Completed business studies or commercial training - for example as a tax clerk (m/f/d), accountant (m/f/d), controller (m/f/d), You have several years of professional experience in balance sheet accounting in a medium-sized or large company
  • You are proficient in all common accounting processes and have already worked on various projects in finance with several clients
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the German Commercial Code (HGB) will help you, ensure transparent and correct financial reporting
  • Your German language skills are at native speaker level, both written and spoken
  • You are experienced in using MS Office applications, ideally supplemented by experience with modern financial accounting software such as ADDISON and DocuWare
  • A high level of commitment, flexibility as well as strong analytical skills and an affinity for numbers characterise you
  • you bring a strategic, independent and structured way of working as well as a pronounced solution orientation to your everyday work
