job description / main tasks

• You carry out maintenance and regulation work on tracks and switch units and ensure safe railway lines
• You demonstrate precision and team spirit when lifting and tamping
• The mechanical and thermal separation of rails is also part of your area of responsibility
• You are responsible for replacing rails, and switch components
• You work on track terminations professionally
• You support and contribute to track and switch inspections
• You carry out regular track inspections and switch inspections independently
• You reliably carry out the securing of construction sites and work on track systems
• You are responsible for the securing of level crossings in accordance with BÜV-NE
• Vegetation maintenance work on the railway lines is also part of your area of responsibility
• As an operator of ancillary railway vehicles, you will demonstrate technical skills
• You will make rail joint welds and repair broken rails on site

• You have already completed technical vocational training in the field of track construction, for example as a track layer (m/f/d), fitter (m/f/d) or similar, In addition, training as a safety guard (m/f/d) or level crossing safety guard (m/f/d) would be an advantage
• You have a railway licence in accordance with VDV714
