Cottbus: Take off on the edge of the Spreewald
As the second largest city in Brandenburg, Cottbus is also the largest city in Lower Lusatia and is located a good 100 kilometers south of Berlin between the Lusatian border wall in the south and the Spreewald in the north. As one of the greenest cities in Germany, Cottbus is known today for its parks, whose origins can be traced back to the world traveler Prince von Pückler-Muskau. His 622-hectare Branitz Park is considered to be the last important English landscape park on the continent. During his travels through Brandenburg in the 1870s, Theodor Fontane highlighted a culinary delicacy - the Spreewald gherkins. You can find out exactly where they come from and how they are produced on a cycle tour along the gherkin cycle path. The first stages of the 250-kilometre circular tour include Cottbus as a destination.
The university city offers around 6,000 students a wide range of technical and scientific subjects. Many companies have already recognized Cottbus' close proximity to Poland as an opportunity for successful economic activities. It is one of the five most dynamic economic nations within the EU.
The best conditions to start your career here! Our branch in Cottbus will help you to find your new job opportunity in temporary employment or direct placement.
