Job description

  • You will be responsible for the complete inventory of all existing exhibits, including a detailed duplicate check and the professional determination of the current state of preservation of all historical objects
  • In addition, you will be responsible for the precise development of a well-founded separation proposal as well as for the professional preparation and active support of all future defined separation processes
  • Furthermore, you will be responsible for the strategic development of a modern proposal for the future storage and presentation concept, taking into account conservation standards and spatial conditions
  • The implementation or support of all preparatory relocation and presentation processes. and presentation concept, taking into account conservation standards and spatial conditions
  • the realisation or support of all preparatory removal measures, such as professional packing andmeasures such as professional packaging and systematic labelling and indexing are also part of your tasks
  • As part of your role, you will actively support the entire removal of the exhibits collection by coordinating external logistics service providers and ensuring complete documentation of all processes
  • Finally, you will be responsible for the structured placement and professional storage of the valuable holdings at the new location as well as the final organisation and digital recording of the objects

Requirements

  • You have a degree in the history of science and technology, museology or a comparable degree programme
  • Experience as a research assistant (m/f/d) or curator (m/f/d) will stand you in good stead
  • In addition, you have several years of professional experience in project management as well as sound knowledge of archiving and the application of modern archiving techniques for historical collections
  • You are confident in the use of MS-Office as well as your experienced handling of specialised archiving software and various digitisation technologies for museum collections
  • You have a native level of written and spoken German as well as fluency in English for internal and external communication with all project participants
  • Furthermore, you bring a high level of organisational skills to the table. you have a high level of organisational skills as well as strong communication skills and a pronounced enjoyment of constructive cooperation in a team
