For our client, a large transport and logistics services company in Gütersloh, we are looking for you as Dispatcher (m/f/d) as part of the temporary employment with takeover option.

Job description

  • You will be responsible for operational charter scheduling in the international area for LTL and FTL transporttransports and ensure economic utilisation of the entire transport capacities at all times
  • In addition, you are responsible for the strategic expansion of the department and the continuous optimisation of all existing processes within your area of responsibility in international long-distance transport
  • Furthermore, you are responsible for the entire shipping process including the necessary customs clearance and ensure compliance with all legal regulations and internal quality standards for every transport process
  • Proactive shipment control is also part of your tasks, where you independently develop solutions in the event of deviations in the transport process and ensure on-time delivery to the respective recipient
  • as part of your job, you support freight purchasing and freight sales by preparing offers in line with the market and conducting negotiations with various national and international carriers
  • finally, you are responsible for providing professional advice and actively selling our services in daily contact with your customers, partners and carriers at home and abroad

Requirements

  • You have successfully completed an apprenticeship as a forwarding and logistics specialist, shipping agent or aviation agent and have sound specialist knowledge
  • In addition, you have initial sound professional experience in international scheduling, preferably with a focus on Eastern European markets, and are familiar with the specific requirements of cross-border logistics chains
  • You are characterised by your sound knowledge of MS Office products, as you use these on a daily basis to efficiently manage transports and create analyses and reports
  • You have a native level of written and spoken German and a good knowledge of English and ideally an Eastern European language for communicating with international partners
  • You also have a high level of entrepreneurial thinking and cost awareness, in order to always keep an eye on the profitability of scheduling decisions and to increase them sustainably
  • Finally, you are a team-oriented personality and work absolutely independently and customer-oriented in order to ensure long-term and trusting cooperation with all stakeholders involved in the logistics process
