Job description

  • You will ensure that all handling activities in the terminal run smoothly and reliably coordinate the loading and unloading of trucks and the storage areas
  • As a manager, you will lead a motivated team of handling staff and drivers and guide new colleagues through their induction and development
  • You will be responsible for staff deployment planning and the organisation of holiday and substitution arrangements. and substitution arrangements are firmly in your hands
  • With your trained eye for efficiency, you identify optimisation potential in the processes and ensure that our quality standards are consistently implemented
  • You always ensure compliance with all labour, safety and dangerous goods regulations and act responsibly
  • You show strength in communication, act as an interface between the warehouse, scheduling, transport management and external service providers and ensure a transparent flow of information
  • You carefully record and process claims and complaints so that processes remain traceable and transparent at all times

Requirements

  • You have completed vocational training in the field of freight forwarding or logistics or have a comparable qualification, such as a master craftsman or business administrator
  • You have already gained your first practical experience in managing a team or handling area - ideally in the freight forwarding industry
  • With leadership skills and organisational talent, you support personnel deployment planning and lead your team in a confident and motivating manner
  • You are confident in using IT-supported logistics systems such as TMS, WMS and common Office applications is easy for you
  • Solution-oriented and independent work is one of your strengths and you actively develop processes further
  • Your communication skills are evident in your use of German and ideally also English
  • A sense of responsibility for quality, safety and motivation is a natural part of your way of working
  • You are willing to work flexibly and shift work is no challenge for you
