• You classify wooden objects in terms of cultural and art history, analyse the materials and craft techniques used, and assess their condition or the nature of any damage
• You then decide whether to use traditional materials and craft techniques, such as historical surface treatments – for example, to preserve the original material and its patina – and where you can apply modern methods, such as machine sanding
• You will also document all stages of the work and the final result
• For larger commissions or research projects, you will collaborate with project participants from various specialist disciplines
• You will work on, for example, windows, doors or wall panelling in historic buildings, as well as parts of façades

• you have completed vocational training, e.g. as a joiner (m/f/d), cabinetmaker (m/f/d) or hold a comparable qualification, ideally with further training
• you have already gained experience in the field of restoration or heritage conservation
• you possess the ability to contextualise historic wooden objects within cultural and art history, to analyse the materials used and craftsmanship techniques in depth, and to accurately identify types of damage
• You are equally adept at using traditional tools and techniques (e.g. historical surface treatments to preserve the original material and patina) as you are at employing modern, machine-based methods (e.g. sanding techniques)
• Your profile includes a good command of spoken German and a valid work permit
• You are willing to travel throughout Germany for our installation assignments
• Your working style is characterised by great care, respect for historical fabric and meticulous documentation of all work steps and results
• You enjoy interdisciplinary collaboration and, on larger projects or research commissions, coordinate competently with project participants from other disciplines
