Your responsibilities You will read technical drawings, tolerance specifications and surface finish symbols, and implement them precisely in the production process You will set up and calibrate CNC lathes independently You will select suitable turning tools and cutting materials, fit them and measure them You will operate lathes and machine workpieces to specification You will create and optimise programmes directly on the machine Where necessary, you will manually adjust programmes in the editor You will import programmes created externally using CAD/CAM software and implement them on the machine You will check the dimensional accuracy of workpieces using standard measuring instruments such as callipers and micrometres You monitor production whilst the process is running and identify tool wear or programme errors at an early stage To avoid scrap, you correct tool data and machine parameters and resolve faults in the production process You document inspection results and comply with production quality specifications You will keep your workstation and machine clean and carry out simple maintenance and upkeep tasks What we’re looking for You have completed an apprenticeship as a metalworker (m/f/d), metal fabricator (m/f/d), machining mechanic (m/f/d) or hold a comparable qualification You have experience in independently setting up and configuring CNC lathes, including selecting and measuring the appropriate turning tools and cutting materials You are also able to read technical drawings and work to them You have a good command of written and spoken German Technical understanding and manual dexterity come naturally to you You are a team player, committed, reliable and work independently and safely A valid work permit for Germany rounds off your profile
