• You will read technical drawings, tolerance specifications and surface symbols, and implement them precisely in the manufacturing process
• You will set up and calibrate CNC lathes independently
• You select suitable turning tools and cutting materials, fit them and measure them
• You operate lathes with Siemens SINUMERIK (e.g. 840D sl or 828D) and machine workpieces to specification
• You create and optimise programmes directly on the machine using Siemens ShopTurn and Sinumerik Operate
• Where necessary, you manually adapt programmes in the editor using DIN/ISO code (G-code in accordance with DIN 66025)
• You import programmes created externally using CAD/CAM software and implement them on the machine
• You check the dimensional accuracy of the workpieces using standard measuring tools such as callipers and micrometres
• You monitor production whilst the process is running and identify tool wear or programme errors at an early stage
• To avoid scrap, you correct tool data and machine parameters and resolve faults in the production process
• You document inspection results and ensure compliance with production quality specifications
• You keep your workstation and the machine clean and carry out simple maintenance and upkeep tasks

• You have completed an apprenticeship as a fitter (m/f/d), metalworker (m/f/d), machining technician (m/f/d) or hold a comparable qualification
• you have experience in independently setting up and configuring CNC lathes, including selecting and measuring the appropriate turning tools and cutting materials
• You are also confident in using Siemens SINUMERIK (e.g. 840D sl or 828D)
• You have also gained experience with the Siemens ShopTurn and Sinumerik Operate user interfaces
• You have a basic knowledge of G-code programming in accordance with DIN 66025, enabling you to adapt programmes in the editor as required
• Initial experience with CAD/CAM software would be an advantage
• You are also able to read technical drawings and work from them
• A basic knowledge of German, both spoken and written, is one of your strengths
• You demonstrate a willingness to work in a 2–3-shift system
• Technical understanding and manual dexterity come naturally to you
