Deputy Head of Nursery (m/f/d)

• Salary: €48,000 gross per annum (for < 5 years’ experience) or €53,000 gross per annum (for > 5 years’ experience)

• You will support the nursery management team with organisational, educational and personnel management tasks
• You will take on clearly defined areas of responsibility independently, e.g. rota and cover planning, co-ordinating procedures, staff consultations and the induction of new colleagues
• You will help to ensure educational standards are maintained and that the guidelines set out in the Berlin Education Programme (BBP) are implemented
• You will provide support in implementing and adhering to safety protocols and reliably follow reporting procedures within the framework of child protection (Section 8a of Book VIII of the Social Code)
• You will help organise day-to-day operations, including planning workflows, coordinating responsibilities and arranging cover arrangements
• You will use digital tools (MS Office/Microsoft 365, digital rota planning, nursery app) to support organisational processes
• You will work closely and trustingly with the nursery management and communicate effectively within the team and with the sponsoring organisation

• As a state-recognised early years educator (m/f/d), you bring your training with you
• You have an additional qualification in management/organisation
• you have regular, ongoing experience in a management-related role within a childcare centre
• you are distinguished by your experience in taking on clearly defined organisational, personnel or educational areas of responsibility
• You are confident in using the Berlin Education Programme (BBP)
• You have knowledge of the fundamentals of child protection (Section 8a of Book VIII of the Social Code)
• You are proficient in using digital tools (MS Office/Microsoft 365, digital rota planning, nursery app)
• You have a basic understanding of the legal framework governing Berlin nurseries (in particular the KitaFöG)
• You are characterised by clear, coordinated communication skills and a professional approach to resolving conflicts within the team
• A willingness to take responsibility and reliability round off your profile
