On behalf of our client, a medium-sized company specialising in specialised machinery and paper plant technology in Freiberg, we are looking for you to join us as a Design Engineer (m/f/d) as part of a temporary placement with the option of a permanent role.

• you will take on the technical management and supervision of challenging projects, from the initial design stage through to successful commissioning at the customer’s site
• you will also be responsible for developing bespoke technical solutions in close and direct consultation with the respective customers
• you will also oversee the mechanical design of complex equipment and components right through to their safe handover to in-house production
• supervising the assembly and commissioning of finished systems and assemblies is also part of your varied and responsible daily tasks
• As part of your role, you will support ongoing product development and the optimisation of existing machines and systems, whilst ensuring high quality standards are maintained
• Furthermore, you will assist the technical sales team in preparing quotations and clarifying specific customer requirements
• Finally, you will be responsible for the technical documentation of all design stages, as well as ensuring compliance with internal guidelines and safety standards

• You have successfully completed a technical degree in mechanical engineering, design engineering or process engineering, or hold a comparable qualification
• You also have solid professional experience in mechanical design and in managing projects in the field of specialised machinery construction
• Your confident use of standard CAD systems and your proficiency with MS Office applications are key strengths in your day-to-day work
• Your native-level command of written and spoken German, as well as a good command of English, perfectly round off your professional profile
• Furthermore, you demonstrate a high degree of personal initiative, problem-solving skills and a strong technical understanding of complex interrelationships
• Finally, you are a team player and always work in a structured, goal-oriented manner, with great care and reliability
• To fulfil this position of responsibility, in addition to your technical expertise, you must hold a valid work permit and be permanently resident in Germany
