Job description

  • You will be responsible for the provision and further development of PBF-LB/M technology for the repair of gas turbine blades and will report on the results
  • You will plan and carry out product and process qualifications in collaboration with colleagues from Supply Chain Management, Product Development and the technology experts in the refurbishment process chain
  • In root-cause analyses, you support production, derive sustainable measures for fault rectification and optimise upstream and downstream process steps
  • You implement improvement projects in production and provide tools such as CAD/CAM objects, interfaces to IT systems, specifications, work instructions and training materials
  • Your responsibilities include advising product development on production-friendly product design, as well as developing new processes, industrialisation and helping to shape the production portfolio

Requirements

  • You hold a university degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, design, quality management or a comparable discipline
  • you also have at least two years’ professional experience in a comparable role, as well as experience with PBF-LB/M technology, ideally in the field of high-temperature materials for gas turbine blades
  • You have knowledge of industrial additive manufacturing technologies, as well as experience using CAD and CAM software, optical geometric measurement techniques, and 3D scanning and measurement software
  • You also have knowledge of metallographic testing and analysis methods, powder metallurgy and laser processing technology for nickel-based superalloys; you have an affinity for programming and data processing, for example using Python; and you are confident in using standard MS Office products and, ideally, SAP
  • You also have business-fluent German and written and spoken English
  • To fulfil this position of responsibility, in addition to your technical expertise, you must hold a valid work permit and be permanently resident in Germany
