Electrical Engineer (Switchgear Construction) (m/f/d)

Your responsibilities

• You will be responsible for the independent wiring of control cabinets in accordance with circuit diagrams, assembly drawings and parts lists
• You’ll be responsible for the assembly and mechanical fitting-out of enclosures and distribution cabinets, including the installation of mounting rails, wiring ducts and cable entries
• You will be responsible for snapping onto, positioning and wiring modular devices, fuses, terminals and control components onto DIN rails
• Cutting to length, bending, drilling and adapting copper bars to create busbar connections also form part of your remit
• In addition, you are responsible for the standard-compliant labelling of cables, equipment and terminals using printing systems and markers
• You will carry out intermediate and final inspections (visual inspection, wiring check, protective conductor test, and, where applicable, insulation and functional tests)
• You will also liaise with line managers and specialist planners
• You will be involved in the preparation of production and test documentation, as well as the recording of acceptance tests
• You will carefully implement customer requirements and drawings, taking into account applicable standards and safety regulations (e.g. DIN EN 61439)
• Ensuring the finished switch cabinets are securely packaged for transport, whilst observing safety measures and labelling requirements, rounds off your role

What we’re looking for

• a completed apprenticeship, e.g. as an electronics technician for energy and building services (m/f/d) or an electronics technician for industrial engineering

(m/f/d)

or a comparable qualification in electrical engineering

• you have already gained experience in using tools for mechanical machining and work meticulously when carrying out wiring tasks
• Experience in control cabinet construction or industrial electrical installation would be an advantage
• You are naturally confident in working with circuit diagrams, layout drawings and parts lists, and have a basic understanding of low-voltage technology
• You have a strong awareness of safety and responsibility when handling electrical equipment
• A good command of spoken German and a valid work permit are part of your profile
• You are willing to work as part of small assembly teams
• You have an eye for order, tidiness and efficiency in the workplace
• You are characterised by an independent, structured and quality-conscious approach to your work
