• you will take on the organisational and technical management of the department
• together with your team, you will develop and be responsible for the department’s strategic direction
• You will work closely with the Lord Mayor on drawing up and implementing strategic objectives for the city’s development
• You will represent the department’s interests on the City Council and in its committees
• As a specialist finance officer, you will be responsible for budgetary, tax and fundamental financial matters
• You will organise tax and levy matters of particular importance and prepare annual accounts
• You maintain an overview of the council’s financial resources and financial relationships and consistently enforce financial guidelines
• You play an active role in shaping the management of the council’s shareholdings
• You drive the digitalisation strategy forward and implement it on an ongoing basis in collaboration with all relevant departments
• As the point of contact, you support cultural organisations and stakeholders

• You hold a university degree in business administration, law or public administration, or alternatively, have completed a course of study in economics or finance
• You meet the requirements set out in Section 62 of the Saxon Local Government Act (SächsGemO) for the role of specialist finance officer
• You have a sound knowledge of the Saxon Local Government Act (SächsGemO), the Local Authority Financial Management Ordinance (KomHVO) and the KomHVO double-entry accounting system, as well as

several years’ professional experience in administration

you can demonstrate

• your in-depth knowledge of budgetary, tax and fiscal law, as well as relevant legal frameworks such as the FAG, GemKVO, AO, KAG, VwGO and GmbHG, is a strong point in your favour
• Knowledge of funding schemes and funding guidelines is an advantage for you
• You are certainly familiar with general and specific administrative law as well as local government law
• Working in a self-organised, professional and accurate manner is second nature to you
• You excel at working as part of a team
• You are characterised by leadership and decision-making skills, as well as strong communication skills
