• You will design machinery and plant on a computer using specialist CAD programmes
• As part of the design process, you will calculate the load-bearing capacity and operational reliability of components
• You produce technical drawings and parts lists for manufacturing.
• You build initial test models as part of the prototyping process and test their functionality in the laboratory
• You carry out measurement and test series and document the results
• You oversee production on-site in factories or on construction sites
• During production, you ensure compliance with quality, safety and environmental standards
• You identify and rectify deviations in the manufacturing process in collaboration with the relevant departments
• Once production is complete, you oversee the upkeep and maintenance of existing plant
• You carry out repairs to machinery and technical systems independently
• You further develop existing designs and optimise them in terms of performance and efficiency
• You will liaise regularly with colleagues from development, production and quality assurance

• You hold a degree in mechanical engineering, design engineering or a comparable technical qualification
• You have already gained practical experience in prototype construction and in carrying out technical tests
• You have in-depth knowledge of standard CAD programmes as well as the calculation and design of components
• You have a good understanding of quality, safety and environmental standards
• You have strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team when liaising with production, customers and colleagues
• You are characterised by an independent and solution-oriented approach to your work
