• You will unload containers and lorries using a forklift or crane (magnetic or grab), including large parts and pre-dismantled large components
• You will dismantle scrap components mechanically or using a cutting torch (gas or plasma) into the specified piece sizes for batching
• You will temporarily store the cut scrap in the designated skips, boxes and bunkers and document this accordingly
• You will sort out unsuitable materials
• You clean and decontaminate unloaded containers, skips, boxes and drums for return transport or reuse, in accordance with the shift supervisor’s instructions, the material consignment note or radiation protection guidelines
• At the furnace and the mould, you carry out slag removal as well as repair and maintenance work
• You charge the furnace in accordance with instructions
• You remove the cast blocks from the moulds, load them onto trailers, clean them and transport them to the airlock
• As a furnace assistant, you assist with furnace tapping and charging
• In accordance with work instructions, you will take samples of the melt, slag and dust
• In accordance with specifications, you will prepare the coating and determine its viscosity
• On the shift supervisor’s instructions, you check the filter systems daily, including changing the filters and inspecting the shears
• In accordance with the maintenance schedule, you check the fluid levels on the cutting equipment and the melting furnace
• You will use floor-controlled cranes to transport material as required
• You will transport slag, waste and dust to the airlock
• You take and label samples and hand them over to the radiation protection department
• You pack materials professionally
• You dispose of slag and waste as instructed

• You have successfully completed an apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic (m/f/d), metalworker (m/f/d) or process mechanic (m/f/d)
• You have experience in using cutting torches (gas or plasma) and mechanical cutting equipment
• You have experience in operating forklift trucks and floor-controlled cranes
• You are characterised by a strong safety awareness and a responsible approach to handling hazardous substances and radiation protection regulations
• You work meticulously and reliably, and implement work instructions and maintenance schedules precisely
• Physical stamina is a given for you
• You are a team player and coordinate well with shift supervisors and colleagues
• You have a basic spoken knowledge of German (minimum level)
• A valid work permit is required
