• You will safely navigate and operate the vessel, and be responsible for docking, undocking and manoeuvring
• You will plan and monitor navigation, including determining the course using GPS and radar
• You communicate confidently with pilots and port authorities
• You organise loading and unloading operations
• You comply with international safety regulations such as SOLAS and the ISM Code
• You regularly inspect engines and operating systems
• You conscientiously document and maintain the ship’s papers
• You coordinate and lead crew members

• You hold a qualification as a nautical officer (m/f/d), for example a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in nautical science/maritime studies, Inland Waterway Captain (m/f/d) or a comparable qualification
• You have knowledge of navigation, maritime law and port logistics
• You are fit for sea service and hold a medical certificate
• You are confident using MS Office and, where applicable, specialist software (such as Terminal Operating Systems)
• You have a good command of spoken and written English and German for international communication
• Working shifts, particularly in port operations, is second nature to you
• You are characterised by a sense of responsibility, leadership skills and the ability to work under pressure
• You are a team player and have strong organisational skills
• A valid work permit for Germany rounds off your profile
