Operational Buyer (m/f/d)

Your responsibilities

You’ll plan requirements to ensure optimal stock availability in close collaboration with Production, Service and Logistics; you’ll continuously check and monitor stock levels, to identify bottlenecks at an early stage. You’ll create purchase orders and ensure they are received on time. You’ll plan and monitor the supply chain for technical products and components. You’ll carefully maintain the master data in the ERP system and keep it up to date at all times. You’ll obtain quotations, compare terms and conditions, and select suitable suppliers; you play an active role in price and contract negotiations with suppliers; you monitor delivery dates and delivery quality, and take appropriate action in the event of deviations; you liaise regularly with Production, Service and Logistics to ensure smooth material flows. You will handle complaints in the purchasing department and clarify queries directly with suppliers

What we’re looking for

• You have completed a commercial apprenticeship, for example as an industrial clerk (m/f/d) or a wholesale and foreign trade management clerk (m/f/d) – or alternatively, a technical apprenticeship supplemented by practical commercial experience
• You have solid experience in operational, and ideally also strategic, procurement of technical products, for example from the mechanical engineering, automotive or medical technology sectors
• You have already gained practical experience in the areas of procurement and stock planning
• You have a very good command of German and a good command of spoken and written English
• You have very good subject-specific IT skills, particularly in working with ERP systems
• A structured, customer-, process- and goal-oriented approach to work rounds off your profile
