Job description

  • You will work on modern large-scale plants for the production of corrugated base paper from recycled materials
  • You will be responsible for plant operations by controlling and monitoring modern machinery for paper and board production
  • You will monitor the flow of materials by controlling the supply of recycled raw materials and overseeing the entire production process
  • You will carry out quality checks by taking samples and testing the paper quality both in the laboratory and directly on the production line
  • As part of maintenance and upkeep, you will assist with the upkeep, cleaning and minor repairs of the machinery
  • You will be responsible for troubleshooting by identifying technical problems at an early stage, reporting them and helping to resolve them
  • Finally, you’ll take on process responsibility by familiarising yourself with all aspects of environmentally friendly paper production and industrial wastewater treatment

Requirements

  • You have completed a state-recognised training programme as a paper technologist (m/f/d) or hold a comparable qualification in process engineering
  • Technical and mathematical understanding, including of mixing ratios (fibrous materials, water, additives) and complex machine mechanics will be an advantage
  • You have experience in operating process control systems (PCS), digital control rooms and networked real-time data systems
  • You are also willing to work in a fully continuous shift system (e.g. 3- to 5-shift operation)
  • The ability to work as part of a team and to coordinate closely with related departments such as the laboratory, logistics and the workshop comes naturally to you
  • You are characterised by a strong sense of responsibility and an extremely meticulous approach to your work, as errors can result in significant material and financial losses
  • Finally, you are physically fit enough to carry out occasional manual work in warm or damp production halls
