• You set up offset printing presses (sheet-fed or web offset), prepare them for production and operate them during production
• You adjust the inking unit, dampening unit, feed and delivery to suit the specific job
• You mount printing plates and change them when switching jobs
• You select paper, cardboard and other printing substrates and prepare them for printing
• You mix printing inks, dampening solutions and auxiliary materials and dispense them correctly
• During continuous printing, you control and monitor the entire printing process
• You precisely adjust and maintain register, ink density and colour registration
• You check print quality using measuring instruments such as densitometers and spectrophotometers
• You assess printed sheets for colour, soiling, smudging and double impressions, and initiate corrections in the event of deviations
