At the start of the shift, get changed (safety footwear, workwear, etc.); attend the shift briefing with the client; receive tasks for the day/ Orders are printed out to be processed; check which machine/which order is running; prepare materials; fetch plastic powder or plastic sheets; weigh out materials according to specifications; take raw materials to the correct machine; prepare moulds/tools; ensure the correct batches are used and that everything is clean. You must work with great precision here! Assist with the machine. For example, in rotational moulding: open the mould, fill with material, close the mould, remove finished parts, keep the machine clean. Or in thermoforming: insert plastic sheets, remove finished parts, remove excess material. You work a lot ‘on the line’ or directly on large machines. Post-processing: Deburring edges (requiring manual dexterity), drilling holes, cutting off excess material, cleaning parts, carrying out a visual inspection. This is often manual work. Quality control: check for cracks, verify dimensions, report faults, sort out rejects. Assembly/other department: When manufacturing assemblies: assemble parts, insert screws, fit seals, carry out final inspection. Packaging/other department Finally: pack finished parts, label them, prepare them for dispatch, and clean the workstation What to expect physically: a lot of standing, walking, lifting and carrying; warm workshops; machine noise; shift work; sometimes dirty work
