• You combine raw materials and alloying metals
• You operate, load and heat up furnaces (e.g. blast furnaces, induction furnaces or holding furnaces)
• You precisely regulate the temperature and degree of melting
• You also purify the melt by degassing or adding additives
• You continuously monitor the entire melting and casting process
• You take samples and carry out material analyses
• You also respond immediately to any disruptions in the process
• You maintain, clean and refurbish furnaces (e.g. by replacing refractory linings)
• You also carry out minor repairs to the technical equipment independently

• You have experience in operating furnaces, i.e. in controlling industrial and smelting furnaces, and you bring
• a strong awareness of safety, particularly with regard to fire protection, sparks and hot liquids, which sets you apart
• you hold a valid driving licence and have your own vehicle to get to work
• you are physically fit and resilient, as the work takes place in extreme heat, in heavy protective suits and on a shift basis
• Valid work permits and a good command of spoken German are essential for employment
