Handling of measuring equipment: Proficiency in the use of standard analogue and digital measuring instruments (calipers, micrometres, internal precision gauges). [1] Operation of high-tech measuring systems: Programming and use of coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and optical measuring systems for the automated inspection of complex geometries. [1] Surface inspection: Measurement and evaluation of surface roughness (Ra, Rz) using roughness measuring instruments. [1] Documentation: Preparation of inspection reports, first article inspection reports (FAIR) and statistical process control (SPC) to ensure compliance with standards such as ISO 9001. [1, 2] Checking form and positional tolerances: Verification of plane-parallelism, perpendicularity and flatness of milled surfaces in relation to one another. Contour and pocket inspection: Measurement of complex 3D contours, keyways and hole patterns (often using a CMM).
