• As a safety officer, you ensure the safety of the working environment and keep rescue equipment ready for use at all times
• You initiate assistance and rescue measures where necessary and check work authorisations as well as compliance with work permits
• Your duties also include checking work permits, safety equipment and safety and rescue facilities
• In addition, you record and monitor the number of people in the confined space and coordinate communication with workers, for example via signals. In the event of imminent danger, you will alert those in the confined space, warn others present if necessary, initiate evacuations and, where appropriate, direct the emergency services
• In the event of an alarm, you will be the last person to leave the workplace and ensure that no one remains in the confined space. You then escort those present to the assembly point, confirm that everyone is accounted for where necessary, and, in emergencies, assist with the evacuation or rescue of an injured person

• You will have a good command of German and a valid work permit
• A car or a Class B driving licence is desirable in some cases but not essential
