On behalf of our client, a major shipbuilding and maritime engineering company in Rostock, we are looking for you to join us as a site manager (m/f/d) as part of a temporary placement with the option of a permanent role.

Your responsibilities

• You will be responsible for coordinating and prioritising all complex manufacturing processes and construction activities to ensure the on-time completion of assigned ship sections whilst adhering to high quality standards
• You will also be responsible for the professional management of all internal and external interfaces between partner companies and the relevant specialist departments at the shipyard
• Furthermore, you will oversee the construction-related quality assurance based on the shipyard’s internal inspection plans, international class rules, and the specified technical construction specifications and manufacturing standards
• Your responsibilities also include independently carrying out formal acceptance inspections of assigned sub-sections, as well as providing coordinating support during the handover of the entire project
• As part of your role, you will support the initiation of sustainable solution processes in the event of technical deviations from targets and oversee the professional implementation of necessary production changes
• Furthermore, you will support the precise assessment of additional work in terms of costs and responsibility, as well as the regular reporting on project progress to project management
• Finally, you will be responsible for the consistent implementation of the contractor’s obligations assigned to you, as well as compliance with all regulations regarding occupational health and safety at work

What we’re looking for

• You have completed further training to become a State-Certified Technician (m/f/d) or Industrial Foreman (m/f/d), building on an apprenticeship as an Industrial Mechanic (m/f/d) or Shipbuilder (m/f/d)
• You also have several years’ solid professional experience in construction management, production control or technical project coordination in an industrial or maritime environment
• You stand out thanks to your confident proficiency in using standard MS Office programmes as well as industry-specific software for technical project documentation and production planning
• You have a very good command of written and spoken German, as well as business-level English to communicate confidently with international project partners
• Furthermore, you bring a high level of organisational skill, perseverance and a strong technical understanding of complex manufacturing processes in shipbuilding
• Finally, you are assertive, communicative and always work in a goal-oriented and conscientious manner, with a strong focus on quality and health and safety
• To fulfil this position of responsibility, in addition to your technical expertise, you must hold a valid work permit and be permanently resident in Germany
