• You will be responsible for costing individual parts, welded assemblies, sub-assemblies and complete production runs
• You will also calculate the costs of all existing production and machining processes
• Furthermore, you will determine the costs of materials, machinery, labour, set-up and external services
• You will also be responsible for assessing production times, machining sequences and economically viable batch sizes
• In doing so, you will review drawings, bills of materials, specifications and customer requirements
• You will also select suitable materials, manufacturing processes and production methods
• You will also obtain and evaluate material prices and quotes for external services
• You will prepare, edit and track quotations
• Last but not least, you will carry out preliminary and final cost calculations and analyse the results
• You will also clarify technical queries with customers and liaise with purchasing, work planning and production
• Responsibilities and competencies: You will be responsible for ensuring that cost calculations are complete, traceable and cost-effective
• You also ensure technical feasibility and accurate production costing
• In consultation with the relevant departments, you determine suitable production methods
• You also identify and highlight potential for cost savings, production improvements and optimisation
• Furthermore, you maintain and further develop costing bases and allocation rates
• You will be responsible for maintaining relevant material, item and costing data in SAP
• Last but not least, you will handle customer enquiries independently within your defined area of responsibility

• You have technical training, ideally in metalworking or mechanical engineering
• You also have in-depth knowledge of various manufacturing and machining processes
• You have an excellent understanding of technical drawings, bills of materials and specifications
• You have also gained experience in costing, work planning, manufacturing or technical sales
• A sound commercial understanding and a strong awareness of costs round off your profile
